Luke Partridge

Although I am originally from the UK, the mountains of Canada have been my home for a long time now.

My working life really has two sides to it; splitting my time working as a paramedic for much of the year, until the snow falls when I also work as a ski instructor.

Spending time in the outdoors has been a lifelong passion of mine & I discovered fly fishing after a spinal injury from a mountain biking accident left me looking for a less impactful way to spend time in nature & explore new places.

Although I still ride my bike when I am not on the river, fly fishing has become more than a hobby for me. It's given me a new perspective on life and allows me to slow down and reconnect with nature. I find this especially important working in emergency services where the stress of the job can become overwhelming if you aren't careful to care for your mental and physical well being.

I am currently also studying a masters degree part time in Sport & Performance Coaching.

I enjoy all aspects of fly fishing, whether it's tightline nymphing for browns on technical water, throwing streamers for bull trout, or dry fly fishing to rising cutties on high mountain streams!

I am incredibly excited to be a part of the Hall Rod Co. family, and using their excellent range of rods for all of my adventures!
