The Tailwater review as printed in Fly Fusion Magazine
Tailwater 9' 5wt
"A Blend of Finesse and Power."
— Fly Fusion Magazine, Ultimate Rod Review, July 2026
"Hall Rod Co., a Canadian company, enters the fly rod market with a focus on accessible performance. The Tailwater Series reflects that approach, offering a blend of finesse and power for anglers fishing technical water. The series produces tighter loops and increased line speed while retaining enough feel for more precise presentations."

We're honoured that Fly Fusion Magazine selected the Hall Rod Co. Tailwater 9' 5-weight as an Editor's Choice in their 2026 Ultimate Rod Review — their annual head-to-head test of the year's best fly rods.
The Tailwater series is built for anglers who demand versatility: delicate enough for technical dry-fly water, with the backbone to handle streamers, nymph rigs, and wind. To earn Editor's Choice from one of fly fishing's most respected publications tells us we're on the right track.
