FAQ
Straight answers to the questions we hear most at the shop in Fergus and in our inbox.
Which rod is right for me?
Start with the water you fish most. Our rod guide walks you through the four families, and the comparison table lines them up side by side:
- Current (from $300) — everyday trout, bass and steelhead. The all-arounder.
- Tailwater (from $425) — finesse and control for technical water. Fly Fusion Editor's Choice 2026.
- Grand ($800) — fast, precise, built for bigger water and discerning casters.
- Elite Nymph ($475) — a dedicated 10' 3wt for Euro and tightline nymphing.
Do the combos come ready to fish?
Yes. Every combo pairs the rod with an all-metal reel and a weight-matched premium fly line — rig it up and you're on the water. (Reel brand and colour may vary.)
How does the warranty work?
Simple: if you break your rod within the first year, we repair or replace it free. After that, replacement sections are available for the life of the rod — you just buy the section you broke. Covers the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Start a claim by emailing info@hallrodcompany.com with photos. Full details on our Rod Warranty & Repair Policy page.
How much is shipping?
Canada: free on orders of $125 CAD or more; a $30 flat rate applies below that. US: free on orders of $125 USD or more, shipped DDP from Fergus, Ontario — we cover the duties, so the price you see is the price you pay. Prefer to pick up? Choose in-store pickup at checkout and grab your order at 105 Queen St West, Unit 6, Fergus, Ontario.
What's your return policy?
14 days from delivery, unused and in original packaging. Email info@hallrodcompany.com to start a return; return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Sale items and gift cards are final sale.
Where are Hall Rod products made?
The Grand is built in South Korea; our other rods are built in China; our fly lines are made in Canada. Every rod is fished and tested by our team and ambassadors before it earns the name.
Can I buy replacement sections for my rod?
Yes — replacement sections are available for the life of the rod. Email info@hallrodcompany.com with your rod model and which section you need.
